Progress

We have now raised over £688,000 towards our £1m target. Thank you to those of you who have already supported us but don’t worry if you haven’t; it’s not too late...

The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation (EFF) completed its purchase of 418 acres of Greno Woods and a private investor (on behalf of Silvapower Ltd) bought a smaller section in 2010. This means that the woodland was taken off the open market whilst we try to raise the funds to buy the woods back from them.

The Wildlife Trust for Sheffield and Rotherham has already begun active management of the woods but we need to buy the woods back from EFF by March 2012, in order to secure them for public benefit.
