I have been privileged to live near the edge of Greno Woods for most of my life. The woods were a playground for us as children, when finding masses of frogspawn in the basket-makers' pond was one of the first signs of spring. They now provide pleasure in the form of constantly changing views from our windows, and above all the variety of wildlife. There is a thrill in hearing the cries of owls and foxes on frosty nights, and the pleasure of a constant stream of visitors to the bird feeders. In winter, jays, great spotted woodpeckers and nuthatches are especially welcome. And the highlights have been one-off visits from goldcrest, woodcock and badger. I wish the Wildlife Trust every success with its appeal. Anonymous Donor
We were delighted to be able to support the Greno Woods Appeal. We have happy memories of walking in Greno Woods with our sons when they were young.
